More small user interface and map display improvements.Note that AUSOTS is disabled per default since there are no flex tracks available for almost one year and the service is unreliable causing download errors. Added new sub-menu Track Sources in menu Flight Plan which allows to enable or disable the different track systems to load.Changed keyboard shortcut for Create Approach in context menus to Alt+Shift+R to avoid overlap with Calculate Flight Plan.As a result the user could not zoom in to the minimum of around 4 NM and was stuck at much higher levels. Removed wrong warning dialog about start position when loading MSFS flight plans. This kept the user from starting Little Navmap. Read the linked chapter below to minimize issues when loading flight plans into MSFS: If you think something could be done to improve things further (apart from buying more RAM, which I can't afford at the moment), please go ahead.► Little Navmap 2.6.10 released - Downloads Known Issues Thanks for trying to investigate my dilemma. I thought including that info might prompt other Mac users who think loading takes a long time. Burying unnecessary folders/files into a lower level directory means your Mac doesn't have to search through them during any processing. The tip I was given (ages ago) was to double-click on the HD icon, then make sure only essential files are kept there. It might have been Yves, but stashing that file away sure made 3 minutes difference to the FG loading time. I am not sure who gave me the info about not leaving large files on my desk top. So the routes etc will be as per the default set up in the Mac release. I just put FG in my applications folder, then let the Mac Launcher do the rest. Where exactly was the file (file path, ideally), and where have you got fg-root and fg-scenery set to?You are getting much too technical for me. My lesson for today is to remember not to keep large files at the top directory level - Bury them! I'm sure someone told me that before, but I blame my poor memory on a medical issue. I will leave the thread running (rather than mark it as solved) as others may get (or give) interesting info from/to it. I have my performance back and am now a very happy Bunny With that file safely stowed away a couple of directory levels below the surface, FG loads in 48 seconds first go. This being at the highest directory level, I think it was being searched when FG was looking for sub-systems, hence the very slow loading of FG. I am having to admit that I didn't check everything before shouting for info. The info may be valuable for comparisons other than mine.Ĭoming back to the 'dimbo' part. However, as I live in the UK and most of you live in other time zones, this little flood of info didn't really start until I awoke today. The reason I started this thread was my Mac suddenly started to take over 3 minutes to load FG, whereas before Tuesday, it was only taking about 30 seconds.īeing a bit of a dimbo, I expected I was going to be advised by the myriad of FG computer wizards that something obvious needed attention. Isn't this topic just for macs?No not really.
